Licensed and Accredited

What does it mean to be accredited under the Behavioral Health Standards of the Joint Commission?

Accreditation as a BEHAVIORAL HEALTH ORGANIZATION by the Joint Commission is a higher standard with more rigor in the areas that matter most to treatment consumers and families. Hospital-based programs are exempt from the behavioral health standards and are often only accredited as a general hospital. Some institutional and “faith-based” programs are also exempt from the best-practice standards assured by Joint Commission Behavioral Health accreditation. Before entering treatment, ask if the provider is accredited under the Behavioral Health Standards of the Joint Commission or go to dcfqualitycheck.org. BoardPrep Recovery Center is also a State-licensed Center under the State of Florida Department of Children and Families.
